Thanksgiving was a challenge but not what you may think.  People were offering me food I can’t have.  I know they worked very hard on it and are proud of their work but I had a very hard time not being rude.  If I ate it I will get sick with dumping.  I will have stomach cramps all day and my holiday would be ruined.  If I didn’t eat it then I felt I was being rude by not sampling their hard work.  In the end I just could not ruin my entire day so I tried to politely say no and change the subject.  I spoke with Amanda about this and she confirmed the same thing.  Her biggest challenge was everyone was watching her and tell her she could not sample something when she knew it was not going to make her sick.
